Day 1 – Arrival in Uganda
Touch down at Entebbe International Airport where you’ll be warmly received and transferred to Kampala for your first overnight stay. Enjoy dinner and rest at Grand Imperial Hotel or a similar lodge, preparing for the adventure ahead.
Day 2 – Scenic Drive to Kibale Forest National Park
Depart early from Kampala and journey westwards through Mityana and Mubende, covering about 350 km of picturesque landscapes. Pass by lush tea plantations in Kabarole before stopping for lunch at the Ruwenzori Guest Hotel in Fort Portal. After lunch, take a brief excursion to the fascinating Amabere Caves before heading to your camp or lodge near Kibale Forest for dinner and overnight.
Day 3 – Chimpanzee Trekking and Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park
After an early breakfast, set off for a guided 3–4 hour chimpanzee tracking trek in Kibale Forest – one of the best places in Africa to spot wild chimps. You’ll also encounter red colobus monkeys, butterflies, and a rich array of bird species. After lunch, proceed to Queen Elizabeth National Park via the Bigodi Wetlands for a community-guided nature walk. Travel through Kasese town, arriving at your safari lodge in the evening for dinner and overnight stay on the serene Mweya Peninsula.
Day 4 – Game Drive and Kazinga Channel Boat Safari
Rise early for a pre-breakfast game drive along the Kasenyi plains, where you might spot Uganda kob, warthogs, buffalo, elephants, and possibly lions or leopards. After breakfast, relax at the lodge until lunch. In the afternoon, embark on a breathtaking boat safari on the Kazinga Channel—a natural waterway connecting Lakes George and Edward—teeming with hippos, crocodiles, and hundreds of bird species. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 5 – Nature Walk & Return to Kampala
Enjoy an early breakfast before a guided walk through the lush Maramagambo Forest, known for its primates, bat caves, and, if lucky, sightings of rock pythons. Afterwards, begin the scenic return to Kampala, passing expansive banana farms and herds of distinctive Ankole cattle. Stop at local craft centers like Kinoni for traditional mats and stools, and at Mpambire for handmade drums. You’ll pause at the equator for photos and arrive in Kampala or Entebbe by evening for your outbound flight.
