Mount Kenya Trek – Naro Moru Route (4 Days)
Program (4 Days):
- Day 1: Nairobi to Met Station (3–4 hrs, 10km, 400m ascent)
Depart Nairobi and drive to the Naro Moru Park Gate (2,600m). Begin hiking through forested trails along the ridge between the Northern and Southern Naro Moru valleys. Enjoy scenic views before arriving at Met Station (3,000m) for dinner and overnight. (B, L, D)
- Day 2: Met Station to Mackinders Camp (5–6 hrs, 10km, 1,200m ascent)
Trek past a radio mast and into open moorlands. Traverse the infamous vertical bog—often wet and muddy—before reaching a fork that opens into the scenic Teleki Valley. Arrive at Mackinders Camp (4,200m) for dinner and overnight. (B, L, D)
- Day 3: Mackinders – Point Lenana – Met Station (8–10 hrs, 11km, 785m ascent)
Begin your summit attempt at 2:00 am to reach Point Lenana (4,985m) by sunrise. Descend back to Mackinders Camp for breakfast, then continue the trek to Met Station for overnight rest. (B, L, D)
- Day 4: Met Station to Naro Moru Gate/Nairobi (3 hrs, 9km)
After breakfast, descend through the rainforest back to Naro Moru Gate (2,600m), where transport awaits for your return to Nairobi. (B, L)
